Gifted by Drew Newman, General Counsel at J.C. Newman Cigars.

Side info: The tobacco used in this cigar was Florida Sun Grown wrapper, Connecticut Broadleaf binder and Pennsylvanian Mennonite and Connecticut Havanna filler. This cigars where all rolled at J.C. Newmans “El Reloj” factory in Tampa, Florida. It’s called the Reloj because of the watchtower the 107 year old factory had so the workers could keep up with time. 

Location: This review was made indoors, in a cigar lounge.

Wrapper: Coffee/ milk chocolate brown, oily and silky smooth with tiny veins.

Construction: A little soft when touched but still a good feeling to it.

Cold draw: Hay and a little sweetness.

1st third: Sweetness, woody and a slight peppery note to the tongue.

2nd third: Keeps the same, with the slight peppery notes shining trough.

The burn: Crisp white ash, burning sharp, some flaky spots but nothing to major.

Smoke: Voluminous smoke with some heat building up.

3rd third: The sweetness turns to milk chocolate, and the peppery notes fills in the spots.

Conclusion: Burns good, good ash and a good taste, even tough I would have liked a little more variation between the 3 parts. Since it kept pretty much the same all the way trough.

Result: If I had to put a score on this unfinished product I would have given it 89 points.
