183. Diamond Crown Maximus Robusto No. 5

Sponsored by J.C.Newman Cigars.

Location: This review was made outdoors during an sunny and windy afternoon, with 12°C.

Wrapper: Dark chocolate, oily with a rough texture with slightly protruding veins.

Construction: Firm even feel.

Cold draw: Light wood notes.

1st third: Starts with a oakwood note, flowed by 60% dark milk chocolate and a nuttiness.

2nd third: Keeps the same flavors from part 1.

The burn: Burns steady and sharp with a white and stable ash sadly it easily fell of with a light wind breeze.

Smoke: Light smoke with a cool feeling on the tounge and a light draw.

3rd third: Gets a bit harsher, towards the end. Dark cacao like 70% and dark oak wood.

Conclusion: A medium to full bodied cigar with a medium strength profile. Not really my favourite, but it works. A cup of coffee, a dark rum or a smoky whisky should match with this.

Result: In my book this is an 86 point cigar.
