569. Chogüi Dos77 Toro Aged 2015

Gifted by a friend.

Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens Fine Tobacco’s cigar lounge.

Information:
Wrapper: Dominican Republic Habano
Binder: Dominican Republic Criollo 98
Filler: Dominican Republic Corojo, Habano 2020
Factory: Top Secret Nest, Dominican Republic

Size: 6×50, Toro.

Wrapper: Coffee bean, oily and smooth with small veins.

Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.

Cold draw: Espresso, earth and dark oak.

1st third: Starts with a earthy sweetness, espresso, cinnamon and old murky oakwood.

2nd third: Flavourwise it’s the same, but increased spice level of white pepper added.

Burn: Burns a bit wonky but with a firm and stable white ash. Had to be relit 6 times as it kept going out.

Smoke: Voluminous smoke with a cool feeling on the tongue and a medium light draw.

3rd third: No changes.

Duration: 17:55-19:15, 1h 20 min.

Conclusion: A full bodied cigar with a full strength profile. Not as enjoyable as the Lonsdale I tried a couple years back.

Result: In my book this is an 87 point cigar.
