568. El Septimo The Travel Time Collection New York

Gifted by Xavier Bento, General Manager at El Septimo Cigars.

Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens Fine Tobacco’s cigar lounge.

Wrapper: Costa Rica
Binder: Costa Rica
Filler: Costa Rica

Size: 4×60, Sumo Short Robusto.

Wrapper: Coffee bean, oily and silky smooth with tiny veins.

Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.

Cold draw: Hay.

1st third: Starts with a espresso and earthy sweetness note. There’s some dark chocolate in the far background that will probably step forward later on.

2nd third: The dark chocolate notes that I senses in part one, steps forward, still keeping the previous flavours.

Burn: Burns fairly sharp with a firm and stable whiteish ash.

Smoke: Voluminous smoke with a medium heat feel on the tongue and a medium light draw.

3rd third: No changes from part 2.

Duration: 21:05-22:05, 1h.

Conclusion: A full bodied cigar with a full strength profile.

Result: In my book this is an 88 point cigar.
