Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens Fine Tobacco’s cigar lounge.
Information:
Wrapper: Connecticut Shade
Binder: Dominican Republic Cuban Seed
Filler: Dominican Republic Cuban Seed
Factory: Tabacalera Arturo Fuente
Size: 4.5×50, Petit Robusto.
Wrapper: Nutty, oily and smooth with tiny veins.
Construction: Fairly firm when lightly squeezed.
Cold draw: Hay, cedarwood and hay.
1st third: Starts with a walnut, medium roasted coffee and earthy sweetness.
2nd third: Gets tastes like watered down coffee, bitterness and cedarwood.
Burn: Burns hasty, but sharp with a firm and stable white ash.
Smoke: Medium voluminous smoke with a heat feel on the tongue and a light draw.
3rd third: Keeps its previous parts flavours.
Duration: 21:30-22:10, 40 min.
Conclusion: A medium bodied cigar with a medium strength profile. Overall construction and smokeability was good, but it was a bit lacking in enjoyable flavours to get higher score. It’s a go out with the dog type of cigar.
Result: In my book this is an 87 point cigar.
