Ernesto’s Humidor No. 1 Edicion 2015 by E.P. Carrillo is a special limited edition collection introduced at the 2015. The collection features three distinct blends – each described as being a personal blend of company founder Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. The blends include: Colorado (an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper blend); Connecticut (an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper blend); and Maduro (a Connecticut Broadleaf blend). Ten cigars from each of the three blends are included in the collection and packaged in a commemorative humidor.
Limited to 500 boxes.
Size: 6×54, Toro.
Wrapper: Dark chocolate, oily and silky-smooth with tiny veins.
Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.
Cold draw: A rich note of fresh oakwood.
1st third: Starts with a rich dark chocolate brownie note with a oakwood background.
2nd third: Keeps it’s rich flavour notes.
Burn: Burns a little wonky but easily fixed, firm and stable white ash.
Smoke: Voluminous white smoke with a medium heat feel on the tongue and a light draw.
3rd third: Keeps the same flavour profile from previous parts until the very end.
Duration: 21:40-23:10, 1h 30min.
Conclusion: A full bodied cigar with a medium to full strength profile.
Result: In my book this is an 92 point cigar.
