Gifted by Drew Newman.
Location: This review was made indoors in a cigar lounge.
Wrapper: Oily, smooth, dark brown and lightly textured veins.
Construction: Evenly soft all over.
Cold draw: Hay.
1st third: Oak wood, medium roasted coffee and bitter almonds.
2nd third: A little spicy not in the back of the mouth. Light woody finish, half way in the 2nd part there is still an almond taste but without the bitterness. There’s even a white pepper spicy that covers the roof of the mouth.
The burn: Burns slowly, but still steady. Darker gray-ish ash, very stable.
Smoke: Light in volume, with a medium heat.
3rd third: Keeps a spicy note in the background.
Conclusion: A spicy but still medium in flavor. If only the size would have been a little smaller in ring gauge I think the flavours would have shown a bit better.
Result: In my book this is a 87 point cigar.
