759. Arturo Fuente Añejo Reserva Xtra Viejo SSS Shark No. 77 Maduro

Bought at Sweets n Cigars in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Location: This review was made indoors in a cigar lounge.

Information:
Wrapper: USA Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro
Binder: Dominican Republic
Filler: Dominican Republic
Origin: Dominican Republic

Factory: Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia (Dominican Republic)
Box: Sold in 20 count boxes.
Release: 2001
Availability: Limited Yearly Production of twice a year.

Size: 5.9×64, Torpedo Boxpressed

Wrapper: Coffee bean brown, oily but rough texture feel with small veins.

Construction: Fairly firm and even feel when lightly squeezed.

Cold draw: Oakwood.

1st third: Starts with freshly baked farm bread, some light floral sweets, cacao and oakwood.

2nd third: Fairly unchanged, the flavours are more coherent than in the beginning.

Burn: Burns fairly sharp with a firm but with some flakes and stable white-ish ash.

Smoke: Voluminous smoke with a medium heat feel on the tongue with a medium light draw.

3rd third: Notes of black tea, lemon zest, red pepper and cashew nuts added to the mix.

Duration: 22:25-00:15, 1h 50min.

Conclusion: A full bodied cigar with a medium strength profile. More flavourful and heavier body than the “Don Carlos The Man’s 80th Eye of the Shark” so in my opinion a more interesting smoking experience.

Result: In my book this is a 91 point cigar.

  1. Thank you very much for reviewing. I’ll keep an eye out for this one now especially as I loved the normal shark so would love one with the flavours dialled up.
