Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens Fine Tobacco’s cigar lounge.
Information:
Wrapper: Habano HVA DR 2007
Binder: Dominican Republic 2007-2009
Filler: Dominican Republic 2007-2009
Limited to 2500 cigars. Made in 2016.
Size: 5×50, Robusto.
Wrapper: Coffee bean, oily and silky smooth with tiny veins.
Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.
Cold draw: Light wood.
1st third: Starts with a note of Brazil nuts, cedarwood, earthy, marzipan and cream.
2nd third: No changes.
Burn: Burns fairly sharp with a firm and stable white ash.
Smoke: Voluminous smoke with a cool feeling on the tongue and a medium light draw.
3rd third: Gets hints of dark chocolate and red peppers, otherwise keeps previous flavours.
Duration: 23:00-00:00, 1h.
Conclusion: A full bodied cigar with a medium strength profile. The later iteration in the lineup (3.0) is definitely an improvement from this cigar. It’s good but fell a bit short from being amazing.
Result: In my book this is an 89 point cigar.
