Gifted by Robert Caldwell, owner of Caldwell Cigars, and Martin Nelson, owner of Kind Cigars.
Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens Fine Tobacco’s cigar lounge.
Information:
Wrapper: Ecuador
Binder: Indonesia
Filler: Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and USA Pennsylvania
Size: 5×52, Robusto.
Wrapper: Milk chocolate, smooth with tiny veins.
Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.
Cold draw: Light maplewood note.
1st third: Starts with a note of toasted bread, medium roasted coffee, all spice, hazelnut and maplewood.
2nd third: Gets a hint of white pepper added to the previous flavours.
Burn: Burns sharp with a firm and stable white ash.
Smoke: Voluminous smoke with a cool feeling on the tongue and a light draw.
3rd third: Well balanced note until the end.
Duration: 23:30-00:30, 1h.
Conclusion: A medium bodied cigar with a medium strength profile. It’s a good cigar, but it needs a bit more umpf, but then again it’s a pre-release.
Result: In my book this is an 87 point cigar.
