Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens cigar lounge.
Information: Juan López is a current pre-revolution brand, established in the 1870s. The range comprises medium to full strength cigars using tobacco from the premium Vuelta Abajo region in Cuba.
Numbered Slide Lid Box of 25 cigars (3,000 made).
Size: 5.3×52, Robusto (Edmundo).
Wrapper: Milk chocolate, oily and silky-smooth with tiny veins.
Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.
Cold draw: Light wood note.
1st third: Starts with a smooth hazelnut spread, caramel sweetness and birchwood finish.
2nd third: The previous flavours combined with a creamy feeling makes the cigar oh so enjoyable.Burn: Burns fairly sharp and hasty, with a firm and stable white ash.
Smoke: Voluminous white creamy smoke, with a cool feeling on the tongue and a light draw.
3rd third: The wonderful flavours from previous parts kept up and it was delightful.
Duration: 20:00-21:00, 1h.
Conclusion: A mild bodied cigar with a mild strength profile. This cigar it at it’s peak now and I’m a bit sad I don’t have anymore since it’s so delicious.
Result: In my book this is an 95 point cigar.
