Gifted by Les Drent, owner of Kauai Cigars.

Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens cigar lounge.

Information: Through the passage of time, and careful selection of tobacco leaf from Kauai and beyond, a great cigar comes of age.

Like a clock without hands,
time is defined only by taste.

The Hawaiian Vintage Series made by the Kauai Cigar Company, and blended by tobacco farmer, Les Drent, celebrates the days, months, and the years that go into making a premium cigar.

Momona means Sweet and Fat in Hawaiian.

Got this during an event at our shop summer 2017.

Size: 5 3/4×50, Robusto Grande.

Wrapper: Milk chocolate, oily, silky-smooth with tiny veins.

Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.

Cold draw: Cacao and maple oakwood.

1st third: Starts with a note of cacao, dried fruits and maple oak.

2nd third: Flavour wise it keeps the same, well balanced.

Burn: Burns sharp, with a solid white stable and firm ash.

Smoke: Light smoke, cool feeling on the tongue and a medium draw.

3rd third: The flavours keeps a well balanced profile all the way untill the very end.

Duration: 22:10-23:25, 1h 15 min.

Conclusion: A medium bodied cigar with a medium strength. This definitely a well aged cigar, a little softer on the flavours stick out, definitely a cigar for an aficionado.

Result: In my book this is an 90 point cigar.
