Gifted by Jan Vistisen, owner of Royal Danish Cigars.
Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens cigar lounge.
Information: The Viking Series from Royal Danish Cigars are grown in Matagalpa, which is actually a highland coffee region in Nicaragua. There the climate is cooler, which means the tobacco grows slower, making it more flavourful and and powerful(just like a viking). (Vikings where the first Europeans to discover America, not Columbus).
Size: 7.5×60, Churchill Gigante.
Wrapper: Milk chocolate, oily, silky-smooth with tiny veins.
Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.
Cold draw: Slight peppery notes, caramel sweetness and hints of cedarwood.
1st third: Starts with a caramel milk chocolate creamy smooth note with a light spice tingle on the lips and cedarwood in the background.
2nd third: Keeps the same flavours but with a spicier note in the aftertaste.
Burn: Burns fairly sharp, firm and stable white ash.
Smoke: Fairly light smoke, cool feelings on the tongue and a light draw.
3rd third: Keeps the flavours and the spicy note from previous parts.
Duration: 19:50- 21:15, 1h 25min.
Conclusion: A medium bodied cigar with a medium strength profile. I really thought the cigar would take longer to smoke but it still as really enjoyable.
Result: In my book this is an 89 point cigar.
