252. Viking Cigar Valhalla Valkyrje Epicure

Gifted by Håkon Aanonsen, Viking Cigars.

Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens cigar lounge.

Information: The cigars are blended by Ernesto P. Carrillo and produced at Ernesto’s factory Tabacalera La Alianza on the Dom Rep. Ernesto is a legend in the cigar industry and is considered one of the world’s best cigar manufacturers / blenders. The Valhalla series comes in 4 sizes, all with delicious Habano Ecuador wrapper. Tobacco from Dominican Rep and Ecuador.
To be released in Mars 2019.

Size: 6.5 x 54, Epicure

Wrapper: Milk chocolate, oily and silky smooth feel with tiny veins.

Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.

Cold draw: Light touch of hay and wood.

1st third: Starts with a creamy cappuccino, oak wood and a 60% milk chocolate.

2nd third: The coffee notes goes from a cappuccino to a medium roasted coffee with a splash of milk, with hints of sweetness and the milk chocolate turnts to a 70% dark chocolate.

Burn: Burns stable and firm with white-ish ash.

Smoke: Voluminous white smoke, cool feeling on the tongue and a light draw.

3rd third: Returns to the same taste profile from the beginning.

Duration: 19:10-20:20, 1h 10 min.

Conclusion: A medium to full bodied cigar with a medium to full strength profile. A rum without added sugar, a cappuccino or a hot chocolate would match great with this cigar.

Result: In my book this is an 91 point cigar.
