162. Casdagli Daughters of the Wind Piramide Insomnia

Gifted by Jeremy Casdagli, owner of Bespoke Cigars.

Location: This review was made outdoors during a sunny late afternoon, whilst on holiday in the Algarve, Portugal. 27°C.

Wrapper: Milk chocolate, oily and silky smooth with slightly protruding veins.

Construction: Firm but still a little giving when lightly squeezed.

Cold draw: Light pencil wood, pine nuts and a hint of hay.

1st third: Clear first notes of sandalwood, 60% milk/dark chocolate, earthy sweetness and a nutmeg after note.

2nd third: Keeps the same smooth flavours from previous part.

The burn: Burns steady and fairly sharp, some wonky bits but mostly easily corrected. White-gray ish ash, stable and firm.

Smoke: Medium voluminous smoke with a medium heat feel on the tounge.

3rd third: Keeps the same flavours of darkish chocolate with a sandalwood, earthy sweetness and nutmeg in the background.

Conclusion: A medium bodied cigar with a medium strength profile. Since this is 5 year old tobacco it’s understandable that the flavours have started to marry together. This usually makes the flavours stick the same all the way trough.

Result: In my book this is an 90 point cigar.
