Wrapper: Coffee bean brown, silky smooth with tiny veins.
Construction: Firm and even feel when lightly squeezed.
Cold draw: Hay and earthy sweetness.
1st third: Starts with a medium roasted coffee, candied almonds, shortbread, cinnamon and nutmeg with a maplewood in the background.
2nd third: Getting cashew nuts, mentha leafs, bittersweet orange peel and pine needles added to the mix.
Burn: Burns sharp with a firm and stable white-ish ash.
Smoke: Voluminous smoke with a cool feeling on the tongue and a medium light draw.
3rd third: Most of the previous flavours stay for the end, loosing the maplewood and mentha leafs and getting instead a rye whisky tone added together with a caramel sweetness.
Duration: 18:35-19:55, 1h 20min.
Conclusion: A full bodied cigar with a medium strength profile. Pretty complex blend that keeps itself well balanced. Burns beautiful from start to finish and handled itself lovely. Out of the Lampert I’ve had so far, it’s up there as one of my favourites behind the Azul.
Result: In my book this is an 91 point cigar.
