280. Kauai Island Prince Bumboocha Sun Grown

Gifted by Les Drent, owner of Kauai Cigars.

Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens cigar lounge.

Information: The Island Prince is made with Kauai (Hawaii) tobacco and it’s wrapped in a dark Habano leaf grown in Nicaragua. Got this during an event at our shop summer 2017.

Size: 6 1/8×52, Torpedo.

Wrapper: Milk chocolate, oily and silky-smooth with tiny veins.

Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.

Cold draw: Light cedarwood note.

1st third: Starts of with a milk chocolate, coffee nibs and pastry.

2nd third: Keeps it’s previous flavours but with a hint of coconut added, never felt anything like it before in a cigar.

Burn: Burns fairly sharp, white stable and firm ash.

Smoke: Medium voluminous smoke, medium heat feel on the tongue and a medium light draw.

3rd third: Keeps it’s flavour profile from previous parts.

Duration: 20:15-21:15, 1h.

Conclusion: A medium bodied cigar with a medium to full strength profile.

Result: In my book this is an 90 point cigar.
