171. HENK MAORI HAKA Limited Edition 2016

Gifted by Heiko Poerz, owner of HENK MAORI HAKA & HENK Luxury Suitcases.

Location: This review was made indoors in a cigar lounge.

Wrapper: Milk chocolate, oily and silky smooth with near to invisible veins, I can’t barley feel where the leaves meet. Triple cap for those interested.

Construction: Firm even feel all over.

Cold draw: Light hay notes, light hint of white pepper and sandalwood.

1st third: Starts with a sandalwood note, there are some spices that lingers in the back. They remind me of Christmas, like gingerbread, glögg/glühwein (Swedish strongwine you heat up and preper with spices) and a creamy milk chocolate.

2nd third: Keeps the same but with a creamy note that sweeps around the previous flavours.

The burn: Burns slowly and sharp, with a firm and stable white ash.

Smoke: Voluminous white creamy smoke with a cool feeling on the tounge.

3rd third: Towards the end it gets a darker wood note but still well balanced flavour all the way trough.

Conclusion: This is hands down on my top 10 best cigars I’ve ever smoked. Medium bodied with a medium strength profile. The fact that the cigar brought a Christmas feeling made me really happy since it’s my favourite time of the year.

Result: In my book this is an 97 point cigar.
