166. La Aurora ADN Dominicano Robusto

Store bought at Mellgrens Fine Tobacco.

Location: This review was made indoors in a cigar lounge.

Wrapper: Milk chocolate, oily, rough texture with clear signs of the veins.

Construction: Firm but still a giving feel.

Cold draw: Hay and wood notes.

1st third: Starts with a spicy wood note, hint of dark roasted coffee but not the bitterness from it just the taste.

2nd third: A hint of a caramel sweetness is introduced in the second third whilst still keeping the same spicy wood notes and dark roasted coffee notes.

The burn: Burns a little wonky with a white-ish ash and a firm feel. When entering the second part I had to re-light it because it suddenly went out.

Smoke: Voluminous white smoke with a medium heat feel on the tounge and a light draw.

3rd third: Keeps the same flavors from previous parts but with a emphasis on the darker notes.

Conclusion: A medium bodied cigar with a medium to full strength. I had some problems with it going out on me 4-5 times, but easily fixed with the lighter.

Result: In my book this is an 88 point cigar.
