Wrapper: Mexican San Andrés Maduro
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Origin: Nicaragua
Factory: Tabacalera A.J. Fernández Cigars de Nicaragua (Nicaragua)
Box: Sold in 12 count boxes.
Release: 2022
Availability: Regular Production.
Size: 5×50, Robusto (Box Pressed).
Wrapper: Coffee bean dark brown, oily and smooth texture with tiny veins.
Construction: Fairly firm and even feel when lightly squeezed.
Cold draw: Oakwood.
1st third: Starts with a regular dark roasted coffee, oakwood bark, walnuts, hazelnuts and blood sausage spices with a bit of that irony taste.
2nd third: Luckily it looses that blood sausage and irony flavour in this part. A cinnamon and nutmeg spice steps in instead.
Burn: Burns hasty and sharp with a firm and stable white-ish ash.
Smoke: Voluminous smoke with a medium heat feel on the tongue with a light draw.
3rd third: Cacao powder is dominant in this final part.
Duration: 16:55-17:45, 50min.
Conclusion: A full bodied cigar with a medium strength profile. It’s a good Maduro cigar, but it lacks that complexity making the regular version more interesting.
Result: In my book this is a 89 point cigar.
