Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens Fine Tobacco’s cigar lounge.
Wrapper: Dominican Republic Habano HVA 2007
Filler: Dominican Republic 2007-2009
Limited to 1000 cigars.
Made in 2016.
Size: 5×42, Corona.
Wrapper: Light milk chocolate, smooth with tiny veins.
Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.
Cold draw: Hay and light wood.
1st third: Starts with a light wood note, followed by white pepper spice and finishes with a smooth cream note.
2nd third: Gets added notes of white bread and sweet spices. Still keeping the previous flavours steady.
Burn: Burns fairly sharp with a firm and stable whiteish ash.
Smoke: Voluminous smoke with a cool feeling on the tongue and a light draw.
3rd third: Keeps its previous flavours until the very end. Smooth sailing.
Duration: 16:20-17:10, 50 min.
Conclusion: A medium bodied cigar with a medium strength profile. Look forward to this being released, a proper upgrade from 1.0 which was very mild. Sadly I missed 2.0 when it was released but apparently it was more full bodied.
Result: In my book this is an 90 point cigar.
