500. CAO The Sopranos Edition Soldier Aged 2013

From my own collection.

Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens Fine Tobacco’s cigar lounge.

Information:
Wrapper: Brazilian Maduro
Binder: Honduras
Filler: Nicaragua, Dominican Republic & Colombia
Limited production between 2005-2013.

I choose this cigar to be my 500th review because when I was younger I was a big fan of the show The Sopranos. I told myself that when I’m old enough to buy cigars I’ll do so. And look where that has gotten me, 500 reviews in, working 6 years in the cigar business and hopefully many more to come.

Size: 6×54, Toro.

Wrapper: Coffee bean, oily and smooth with small veins.

Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.

Cold draw: Hints of oakwood and spices.

1st third: Starts with a earthy sweetness, 70% dark chocolate, oakwood and cinnamon.

2nd third: A black pepper spice and espresso note is added.

Burn: Burns a bit wonky with a firm and stable crisp white ash.

Smoke: Voluminous smoke with a medium heat feel on the tongue and a medium light draw.

3rd third: Keeps it’s previous flavours on a balanced level.

Duration: 17:10-18:30, 1h 20min.

Conclusion:  A full bodied cigar with a medium strength profile. I’m a bit sad I didn’t buy more of these back when I bought two in 2015. The only thing I can say is, these taste so much better than the new production called Consigliere. That is the hardest part, since these are really hard to find now days.

Result: In my book this is an 91 point cigar.
