Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens cigar lounge.
Information:
Vegas Robaina is a current post-revolution brand, established in 1997.
The range comprises medium to full strength cigars using tobacco from the premium Vuelta Abajo region in Cuba.
Numbered Dress Box of 10 cigars (5000 made).
Size: 6.5×54, Double Robusto (Sublimes).
Wrapper: Milk chocolate, oily and silky-smooth with tiny veins.
Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.
Cold draw: Oakwood.
1st third: Starts with a rich taste of old cellar oakwood, cork, cacao and green grapes.
2nd third: Keeps the same.
Burn: Burns fairly sharp with a firm and stable white ash.
Smoke: Light voluminous smoke, medium heat feel on the tongue and a medium light draw.
3rd third: Keeps a overall dry feeling on the tongue, flavourwise it’s the same.
Duration: 18:00-19:20, 1h 20min.
Conclusion: A medium bodied cigar with a medium strength profile.
Result: In my book this is an 88 point cigar.
