285. Viking Valhalla Heidrun Torpedo

Gifted by Håkon Aanonsen, Viking Cigars.

Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens cigar lounge.

Information: The cigars are blended by Ernesto P. Carrillo and produced at Ernesto’s factory Tabacalera La Alianza on the Dom Rep. Ernesto is a legend in the cigar industry and is considered one of the world’s best cigar manufacturers / blenders. The Valhalla series comes in 4 sizes, all with delicious Habano Ecuador wrapper. Tobacco from Dominican Rep and Ecuador.

Size: 5×54, Torpedo.

Wrapper: Milk chocolate, oily and silky smooth feel with tiny veins.

Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.

Cold draw: Light touch of hay and wood.

1st third: Starts with a note of dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee and oak wood. There are also hints of toasted bread with melted butter.

2nd third: Keeps the same.

Burn: Sharp burn, firm and stable white ash.

Smoke: Voluminous white smoke, medium heat feel on the tongue and a light draw.

3rd third: Loses the toasted bread note but retains the dark chocolate, coffee and dark oak note.

Duration: 19:25-20:25, 1h.

Conclusion: A full bodied cigar with a full strength profile.

Result: In my book this is an 88 point cigar.
