223. Saga Short Tales Tomo I: Tales of High Priming

Gifted by my boss at Mellgrens Fine Tobacco.

Location: This review was made indoors in a cigar lounge.

Wrapper: Dark milk chocolate, oily and silky smooth with tiny veins.

Construction: Firm even feel all over.

Cold draw: Hay and oak wood.

1st third: Starts with a dark roasted coffee, oak wood and 70% dark chocolate. Well balanced flavours with a punch, there are some spicy black pepper notes on the lips and in the roof of the mouth.

2nd third: Keeps the same flavours but a with a more medium 60% milk chocolate note but still with a medium roasted coffee aroma. But it reminds me more of a chocolate coated coffee bean than just the two flavours separate. coffee beans.

The burn: Burns slowly and fairly sharp with a crisp white stable and firm ash.

Smoke: Voluminous white smoke with a medium heat feel on the tongue and a medium light draw.

3rd third: Keeps the previous flavours pretty much identical from before, but even more softer. It’s weird in a way how it starts of strong and ends on a softer medium profile.

Conclusion: A medium to full bodied cigar with a medium to full straight profile. This is not a cigar for the lighthearted, this cigar brings a punch but let you sit down and relax after. I feel like this is the perfect little wild card cigar that you pull out when you want to enjoy a whisky or a heavier spirit in front of the fireplace for one of these cold days. Just open the book and enjoy.

Result: In my book this is an 90 point cigar.
