1010. Oliva Mareva Cigar Smoking World Championship

Bought at Brobergs Tobakshandel, Sweden.

Location: This review was made indoors in a cigar lounge.

Information:
Wrapper: Ecuador
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Origin: Nicaragua

Factory: Tabacalera Oliva de Nicaragua S.A. (Nicaragua)
Box: Sold in 10 count boxes.
Release: 2024
Availability: Regular Production.

Size: 5.1×42, Mareva.

Wrapper: Milk chocolate brown, oily and smooth texture with small veins.

Construction: A little giving but even feel when lightly squeezed.

Cold draw: Rye bread, corn puffs and light wood.

1st third: Starts with dark roasted coffee, cinnamon, nutmeg, nut mix of cashews and hazelnuts, muscovado sugar, cacao powder and oakwood.

2nd third: While keeping to the previously mentioned flavours it keeps a consistent earthy cacao note in the mouth making you salivate.

Burn: Burns sharp with a firm and stable white ash. Towards the end it gets harder to keep it lit, had to relight it a couple of times.

Smoke: Voluminous smoke with a medium cool feeling on the tongue with a light draw.

3rd third: Notes of citrus zest is added towards the end.

Duration: 19:35-21:05, 1h 30min.

Conclusion: A medium bodied cigar with a medium strength profile. While it has great complexity the relighting portion of the last bit got a little frustrating, now imagine if that happens during competition.

Result: In my book this is a 88 point cigar.
